Welcome to Super Happy Art Class!

I hope you enjoy looking at the wonderful artwork from Duchesne Academy Lower School. Lower School consists of girls, grades pre-k through fourth. Unfortunately I have not kept record of all the successful projects, but here is a good sampling. Check out the artwork by grade level, but realize that each activity can be used for multi-grades. Collage and Crayon Resist in outer space

First grade had so much fun making these out of this world art. First they created their universe. We discussed space and how things that are closer are bigger than things that are far away. They used crayons, then painted the background with black watercolor paint. Lastly they used construction paper to design their own rocket that would be blasting off into space.

Matisse Pattern Painting

Third grade observed several Matisse paintings and discussed his use of bright colors and patterns. They learned how to draw a cylinder before drawing their own coffee or tea cup and adding different patterns to the artwork.

Second Grade City Scapes

Second grade combined printmaking and watercolor to create these fun city scapes. We used foam plates for the print and then the girls added the buildings and details after.
