Welcome to Super Happy Art Class!

I hope you enjoy looking at the wonderful artwork from Duchesne Academy Lower School. Lower School consists of girls, grades pre-k through fourth. Unfortunately I have not kept record of all the successful projects, but here is a good sampling. Check out the artwork by grade level, but realize that each activity can be used for multi-grades. Woven Prints

Third grade wove two different mediums in this interesting weaving. One paper was printed with color diffusing tissue paper, the other was a print made with foam plates. The foam plate was divided into sections of patterns.

Symmetry Collages

Second grade cut two shapes at a time by stacking paper before cutting. Once they had the two pieces, they created a mirror image, abstract design collage.

Andrew Goldsworthy

Andrew Goldsworthy Used found objects in nature to make stunningly beautiful earthworks. 4th grade enjoyed making painted paper into works of art inspired by his leaf assemblages. First they painted a large piece of paper with analogous color schemes, blending one color into the next. Then they made a leaf template that was traced on the back of the paper. After cutting our the leaves, they glued them into a concentric circles.
